“The Merry Widow” Opera

Gala Dinner & Entertainment.

 

The Ball will be located on the first floor (the pianonobile) in an authentic 14th century Palace: Pesaro Papafava, With its precious gothic facade and its elegant quadriform gothic windows overlooking the canal of the Misericordia. The palace will be illuminated entirely with candlelights to create a memorable atmosphere.

 

With The Merry Widow, whose world premiere took place in Vienna in 1905, Franz Léhar wrote a immortal masterpiece of a genre, operetta, which starting from the Austrian city, was soon to triumphed throughout the world.

A simple story of love and inheritance, this operetta becomes an extraordinary international success, partly due to the employ of the characteristic elements of the comedy and of the grand ball, it is also named ‘dancing operetta’.

 

21.15: Elegant cocktail with live music.

21.45: Seated illuminated candle lights Gala Dinner, wines included.

23.00: Performance of the most beautiful arias from the opera “The Merry Widow”.

Midnight: Live music and dances.

 

Dress Code: costume and mask.

Cost: 290 € per person.

The Palace is reachable by 5 minutes walk from Ca D’Oro vaporetto stop: Calle Racchetta, Cannaregio 3764. Reachable also by  its water door (in front of the Church of the Misericordia).
